Chaplain Services

Chaplains serve the spiritual and emotional needs of others through the work of pastoral care. They perform wedding or funeral ceremonies, administer communion, deliver spiritual messages, offer prayer at public meetings, and provide regular counseling. Chaplains also meet the needs of the moment, usually through listening and prayer.

In the event of tragedy, personal crisis, or a season of change, chaplains provide the pastoral care needed to help and support individuals. Consequently, chaplains work in a number of environments where pastoral care is needed.

Role: Chaplain

Office:

It wasn’t Chaplain Nuckols’ dream to become a parish pastor when he was younger; it wasn’t until college that he was led down that path. He now has over 25 years of parish-pastor experience and is also an Army Chaplain in the Army Reserves. He has been deployed twice to Iraq from 2004-2005 and 2007-2008, and has over 19 years of service in the Reserves.

Mark appreciates all sports (having his favorites), enjoys foods from all over the world, and loves to cook. He listens to all types of music from jazz, hard and alternative rock, blues, to classical music, bluegrass and Celtic. He also cherishes an occasional cigar, having picked up the habit while in Iraq. His views could be defined as conservative, but it has never hindered him in serving people wherever they are, and whatever they do. Mark has been married for over 30 years, and has two adult children and two grandchildren.
